Bluna B.M.

I set out on my creative journey over thirty-five years ago in Scotland and  continue my voyage of exploration.  A theology and philosophy graduate of Oxford and Edinburgh Universities, I  studied at Edinburgh College of Art and  worked for a decade as an etcher-printmaker.  An interest in artist's books precipitated a move to France, where I discovered the comic book genre. This remains the chief focus of my work today.  As well as exhibiting widely, my art and bookworks, produced under my birth name Arabella Crum Ewing can be found in collections worldwide, including the Tate Gallery, London.  Bluna B.M. is the pen name I now use for my cartoon and comic book creations.

The cycles of the seasons and the flora and fauna of the natural world have been a  constant source of fascination and inspiration throughout my life.  As in nature, so in Art - all seasons have their time and place - Spring for the joyful re-eruption of life, Summer for the beauty of flowers in bloom, Autumn for harvesting crops and seeds, Winter for hibernating and nurturing new growth.
